Every ten years, our family takes낙서판

“(Man) Every ten years, our family takes a photo in the same pose in front of Deoksu Palace. It’s the third time today. At first, there were just three people, but now there are four, and our tiny kids have grown this much. Buildings that weren’t around before appeared, and the world has also changed a lot. The next picture is sure to be quite different, too. In the picture we take after our daughters have kids, we might even have too many people to fit in one picture. As I get older and start to use a cane, my daughters could even grow taller than me. We’re capturing the history of our family’s and the world’s changes. I want to remember each and every moment.”

“(남자) 우리 가족은 10년 마다 덕수궁 앞에서 똑같은 포즈로 사진을 찍는데, 오늘이 세번째 날이에요. 처음에는 세명이었지만 지금은 네명이 됐고, 키가 요만하던 아이들도 이만큼 컸어요. 없던 건물들도 생기면서 세상도 많이 바뀌었고요. 다음 사진은 또 다르겠죠. 우리 딸들이 아이를 낳아 사진에 다 담지 못할 정도로 사람이 많아질 수도 있겠고, 제가 나이가 들어 지팡이를 짚게 돼서 딸들이 저보다 키가 커질 수도 있겠고요. 그렇게 가족과 세상이 변화하는 기록을 남기는 거예요. 순간 순간을 기억하고 싶거든요.”
