꽃과의 대화 (Dialogue with a Flower)..
서로의 향기로써 대화를 나누는 꽃에 비해
인간은 말이나 숨결로써 서로의 존재를 확인한다.
꽃이 훨씬 우아한 방법으로 서로를 느낀다.
Compared to the flowers sharing a dialogue through their mutual fragrance,
people confirm our mutual existence through words or breathing.
Flowers are conscious of each other in a far more elegant way.
어느해 가을, 개울가에
다른 꽃이 다 지고 없는데 용담이 한 그루 홀로 남아 있었다.
나는 그 꽃 속이 어떻게 생겼는지 몹시 궁금했다.
입 다물고 있는 용담의 꽃봉오리에 다가가 낮은 목소리로
'나는 네 방안이 어떻게 생겼는지 궁금한데 한 번 보여주지 않을래?' 하고 청을 했다.
다음날 무심코 개울가에 나갔다가 그 용담을 보았더니
놀랍게도 꽃잎을 활짝 열고 그 안을 보여 주었다.
One autumn, by the side of a stream,
as the other flowers had all lost their blossoms and disappeared,
a single autumn bellflower remained.
I was terribly curious as to
what the inside of that flower looked like.
Approaching the bud of the bellflower, whose mouth was closed tightly shut,
I spoke in a low voice and made a request,
"I'm wonderring what it looks like inside your little room,
is there anyway you might possibly show me?"
The next day when I pappened to pass by that stream bank,
seeing the bellflower I was surprised that
a flower blossom had opened wide and was showing its interior.
어떤 대상을 바르게 이해하려면
먼저 그 대상을 사랑해야 한다.
If there is a something you want to understand correctly,
first, you must love the object of your concern.
이쪽에서 따뜻한 마음을 열어 보여야
저쪽 마음도 열린다.
모든 살아 있는 존재는 서로 이어져 있기 때문이다.
Only when you open your warm mind on your side and let it be seen,
will the other side's mind open as well.
This is because all living existence is mutually linked together.
